in Minnesota Recalls! In an effort to keep up with the many current recalls that affect our community, we've located a very good resource. www.recalls.gov . This is a government website who's sole purpose is keeping the public informed of recalls. Please check this site often as they are very good at keeping up to date information on any new recalls. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) issued new advice for people who eat fish caught in several metro area lakes after the chemical perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) was detected in fish taken from those waters. The Fond du Lac PHN Program is proud to present the annual Women's Expo, Ikwe 2008, "Be true to you", to be held at the Tribal Center on September 25th. This is a day for women to come and relax and get information regarding their health and life. Click here to see the flyer. The FDL Public Health Nursing Program is hosting the MN/WI American Indian Cancer Conference from October 22 -24, 2008, at the Otter Creek Event Center, Black Bear Casino Resort. The FDL Public Health Nursing Program is holding car seat safety classes from August through September. Click here for details and class times. The Caregiver's Support Program provides help to people who care for elders, and elders who care for children. The support group meets Wednesdays throughout the summer in the Tribal Center Library Meeting Room. Click here for the schedule and details. The FDL Public Health Nursing Program now has a Cancer Plan linked into Cancer Control PLANET, a government site allowing health care professionals to network together and help avoid the risks of cancer in our community.
