PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists workers engaged in preparing foods for restaurant. Stirs and strains soups and sauces. Weighs and measures designated ingredients. Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, segregates and removes garbage, and steam cleans or hoses garbage containers. Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment, using hand truck. Monitors buffet tables to ensure food is attractively displayed, properly heated or cooled, adequately stocked, etc. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged standing and walking is required. Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds is required.
Subject to inside environmental conditions, including working in a smoking environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated experience in food/buffet preparation; or education above the high school in a related area; or a combination of education and experience is desired. Knowledge of cleanliness and sanitation standards for food preparation and storage is required. Ability to communicate effectively is required. Strong customer service skills are required. Incumbent is subject to bonding, security checks and other pre-employment screening requirements.
