POKER FLOORPERSON/ BRUSH

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Poker Floorperson/ Brush is the front line supervisor in the Poker Room. This individual is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the room at all times. Recognizing the complexity of Poker operations the Poker Dealer is empowered to make critical game decisions in a responsible and independent manner. This individual ensures the integrity of the game consistent with the Internal Controls and serves as the games’ judge at all times. The Poker Floorperson/ Brush has additional responsibilities as the brush. Chip Runner and room cashier.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow the organizational chart. Follow all Black bear Casino rules and internal controls. Accommodate the needs of all guests within the parameters of policies and procedures. Starts and closes games. Makes rulings and decisions in all games. Seats players. Maintains orderly operation of all games. Oversees the Chip Runners. Keep the Shift Manager and/ or the Pit Boss informed of all potential problems. Keep accurate player’s lists on all games in progress. Notify Players when their seat is available. Gladly answer any questions you can. Prepares reports as necessary. Responsible for all chips and monies in the cage. Sell and redeem Black Bear gaming chips. Follow Black Bear Casino rules. Sell chips to players. Do table fills. Bring set-ups as time permits. Maintain the appearance of the Casino Poker Room. All documentation must be consistently completed in a manner as addressed in the Poke Room policies and procedures or directed by the Casino Manager, or his/her designate. Recognizes that employees have certain personal responsibilities, which affect the operational efficiency of the Casino, including the Poker Room. Maintains proper attendance in accordance with Casino policy. Reports to work on time in accordance with Casino policy. Provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with casino policy. Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Casino, and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person (visitors, co-employees). Due to changes and modification in the job from time to time, we require employees to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed in this description at this time.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sedentary work with infrequent standing and occasional walking. Subject to inside environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Use of hands/arms while reaching, dealing and handling cash or chips is required. Good vision, speaking and problem solving ability required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to relate well with the public. Knowledge of Poker games and Room policies and procedures. Ability to provide excellent Guest Services when making difficult game and room decisions. Must be able to problem solve player disputes and complaints. Previous Poker Dealing preferred. Incumbent is subject to a comprehensive background check. Operations are conducted seven days a week and on holidays. Subject is pre-employment and random drug testing.

 

Hours: Shift work. Shift to be determined at time of hire
