BAR BACK

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans bar and equipment, and replenishes bar supplies, such as liquor, fruit, ice and dishes.
  • Stocks refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer.
  • Replaces empty beer kegs with full ones.
  • Slices and pits fruit uses to garnish drinks.
  • Washes glasses, bar, and equipment and polishes bar fixtures.
  • Mops floors.
  • Removes empty bottles and trash.
  • May be required to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages to customers, as needed.
  • Recognizes that employees have certain responsibilities which affect the operational efficiency of the casino.
  • Maintains proper attendance in accordance with casino policy.
  • Reports to work on time. Provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with casino policy.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the casino, and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person (visitors, co-workers).
  • Due to changes and modifications in your job from time to time, we require employees to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed in this description at this time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Normal physical requirements with frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing five to twenty five pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing ten to twenty pounds and occasionally lifting up to and over 40 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs are usually transported with the aid of a dolly.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of personal cleanliness standards and the ability to conform to good hygienic practices is required.
  • Ability to work well with the public is required.
  • Must meet the age requirement of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Liquor ordinance. (21) Alcohol Awareness Training is required and will be provided. Title 31/SAR is also a requirement.
  • Incumbent is subject to bonding, security checks and other pre-employment screening requirements.
