What: Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE): A voluntary Fond du Lac Program offering information and support to parents.

Why: Parents are children’s first and most important teachers. ECFE helps to strengthen families and to enhance the abilities of all parents.

Who: ECFE is for parents with children aged birth to Kindergarten enrollment.

When: ECFE sessions are offered weekly on Tuesday mornings, 9-12:30 (lunch included). Please call 878-8100 to register.

Where: Early Head Start Building


ECFE Offers:

  • INFORMATION AND SUPPORT to all Fond du Lac parents and their infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • PARENT TIME: parents learn about managing behavior, typical parent and child development, and communication skills.
  • PARENT & CHILD TIME: parents and their child(ren) do activities geared for their child’s age in the early childhood classroom.
  • CHILD TIME: the early childhood teachers provide a developmentally appropriate learning experience with the ECFE children.
  • MAKE AND TAKE TIME: parents make a fun learning toy or game to take home a use with their child(ren).
  • INDIVIDUAL PARENTING INFORMATION: home visits, phone contacts, and school visits are all available.
