New information shows that American Indians and Alaska Natives are 4 times more likely to die from 2009 H1N1 than the general population, according to a recent investigation of influenza-related deaths occurring in 12 states between April 15 and November 13, 2009.

The H1N1 influenza is a serious disease, especially for children and young people. A vaccine is available which will prevent the H1N1 flu, or reduce the severity of the disease if you get the H1N1 flu. Please get this vaccination! 

The H1N1 vaccine is now available to people of all ages. More information about this serious flu can be found at www.mdhflu.com and www.cdc.gov
