H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Schedule

The H1N1 vaccine has arrived! The FDL medical providers and the Public Health Nursing staff will be providing the vaccine to eligible clients during their regularly scheduled medical appointments and at special “vaccine clinics” throughout the next few weeks. (Please check daily, subject to change)

The H1N1 vaccine will be offered to those individuals who fall into the priority groups identified by the MN Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control:

  • Persons age 3 years through 24 years (note: the vaccine for children 6 mos to 3 yrs has not arrived yet, watch for further announcements).
  • Children 9 years and under will need a booster vaccination 21 to 28 days after the initial vaccination.
  • Persons age 25 years through 64 years with a chronic medical or immune system condition, including:
    ▬ diabetes
▬ conditions that may interfere with breathing
▬ chronic cardiovascular disease (except high blood pressure)
    ▬ chronic kidney disease
    ▬ chronic liver disease
  • Pregnant women
  • Health Care Workers, Emergency Medical Services and FDL Law Enforcement
  • People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age.

These groups are given priority for the vaccine as the most seriously ill with the H1N1 flu has been children and pregnant women. We ask your assistance in making sure these people get their vaccine. Grandparents, get those grandchildren in for their vaccines! Parents, get your children, teens and young adults in for their vaccine! Pregnant women, get your vaccine to protect yourself and your little one!

If you do not fall into one of the groups mentioned above, please be patient. The MN Department of Health expects that there will be enough vaccine available for all who want it. We just need to make sure that the children, pregnant women and young people with a chronic illness are vaccinated first.

If you have general questions about the flu, please contact the Public Health Nursing Department at 218-878-2128.
