On-Reservation Wild Rice Harvest Opener Notice: The Fond du Lac On-Reservation Wild Rice Harvest will be open on Saturday, August 31st. Due to low plant densities, On-Reservation lakes will be open for "substinence" ricing only. The first week, ricing will be open from 10 am - 2 pm. Rice Purchasing Notice: The Fond du Lac Band will be purchasing unfinished “green rice” from Band members at the Sawyer Center this fall from 12pm-6pm daily. Purchases will begin on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Click here for full details.
The Fond du Lac Resource Management Division in cooperation with the 1854 Treaty Authority and the Minnesota DNR has begun an aerial survey of rice stands across the FDL Reservation, Aitkin, Carlton, southern St. Louis and Lake Counties.
