Definitions:
Blood Pressure:
Your blood pressure numbers tell you the force of blood flow
inside your vessels. When it’s high, your heart has to work harder.
A-1-C: Your average blood sugar for the past 2 to
3 months.
Cholesterol: The amount of fat in your blood.
HDL Cholesterol: “Healthy” cholesterol because it
helps protect your heart.
LDL Cholesterol: “Lousy” cholesterol because it
can clog your blood vessels and lead to heart disease.
Triglycerides: Another kind of blood fat that
raises your risk for a heart attack or stroke.
Microalbumin: A test to check for small amounts of
protein in the urine. This tells us how well your kidneys function.
