Title: Drug Testing Compliance Officer, Full Time
Location: FDL Tribal Center
Supervisor: Human Resources Director
Closing Date: December 7, 2022
Rate of Pay: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour

 

General Summary:

Conducts employee drug and alcohol testing for individuals who are subject to the drug testing policies of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares notification, in a timely manner, to supervisors regarding results for pre-employment, post-accident, and probable cause testing.
  • Prepares timely notification to employees regarding the results of testing.
  • Tracks compliance with treatment plans as directed by a Substance Abuse Professional.
  • Works as the main contact for drug testing results.
  • Notifies employees of positive drug/alcohol testing results.
  • Works closely with the Compliance department to ensure all regulations and requirement are met.
  • Works with employees, supervisors, and substance abuse professionals when dealing with employees with positive tests.
  • Keeps accurate records of all testing results, treatment plans, treatment plan documentation, and training.
  • Monitors and creates a maintenance schedule of all drug testing equipment and supplies.
  • Works closely with the Human Resources Department in regards to pre-employment testing for new and returning employees.
  • Tracks billing for payment to lab and medical review officer.
  • Cross trains to do background checks when necessary.
  • Cross trains to complete driver’s license and insurability checks when necessary.
  • Assists the Compliance department with general office responsibilities as necessary.
  • Position requires on call availability, the ability to respond to on call requests within an hour, and must provide their own transportation to the response call.
  • Works with the Compliance Department to maintain and create an on call schedule.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal physical requirements.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. A.A or A.A.S is preferred.
  • Two years of customer service experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting drug tests is preferred.
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing certification is required; if not certified at the time of hire must become certified within 90-days of hire and must maintain certification for the duration of employment. Training will be provided.
  • Competency in report writing is required.
  • Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook is required.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming identification badge to work in and around Casino property and facilities.
  • Strict adherence to confidently in accordance with the federal Privacy Act and Band data practices policies is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
  • Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
  • Travel is required.
