Title: Pharmacy Registration Specialist, Full Time
Location: Mashkiki Waagaaigan-Mpls
Supervisor: Pharmacy Coordinator
Closing Date: December 5, 2022
Rate of Pay: $17.00 to $19.55 per hour

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interview patient to obtain pertinent registration information, i.e., demographic and insurance information. Determines the eligibility for patients seeking pharmacy services.
  • Collects third party recipient health cards, obtains photocopies of the card, and enters the information into the Viking and EPM computer packages.
  • Maintains understanding of group numbers used for pharmacy billing, which is separate from medical billing and knowledge of eligibility resources and their processing applications.
  • Analyzes the billing operations for the third party pharmacy program and acts as an advocate for Fond du Lac Human Services.
  • Responds to third party requirements on prior authorizations, exclusions, denials, and appeals. Compiles and types letters of correspondence to Federal, State, and local agencies regarding third party pharmacy insurance claims and keeps the Pharmacy Coordinator informed.
  • Maintains ledgers of submittals and collections, interprets computer printouts, vouchers, and schedules derived from various billing programs.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities as requested by the Pharmacy Coordinator.
  • Ensures that the confidentiality of all clients and records are respected.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in solving all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Recognizes that employees have certain personal responsibilities which affect the operational efficiency of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
  • Required to maintain proper attendance and reports to work on time in accordance with Reservation Business Committee policy.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person including visitors and co-workers.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed on this description.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and walking is required. Some bending and stooping is required. Must be able to lift and carry approximately 40 pounds.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience with pharmacy billing and computer packages is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm is required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to follow complicated directions with high precision and care is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish work priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Ability to provide prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they may occur is required.
  • Subject to pre-employment annual background checks, and annual reference checks.
  • Subject to testing and in accordance with the Fond du Lac Employee Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
  • Some travel is required.
