Mrs. Sheldon's 1st Grade Classroom
Weekly Newsletter

We have 8 days of school left. I cannot believe how fast the school year has gone. Please make sure your child is dressed properly for outside. Thank you for sending your child to school. Please try to ensure that your child attends school each day because our reading program has no way to make up missed work and if they are not here, they are not getting the needed information.

Reading:
Your child is improving on their reading ability. Have them show off what they have done in school this week. Please continue to do the 20 minutes of reading homework every night. It will really help your child succeed.

Math:
During math, we have been learning about geometric shapes. Please take some time at home to help your student learn the value of our coins.

Spelling:
Here are this weeks spelling words. Please practice at home for the test on Friday.
*We have finished spelling for the school year. Please keep working on spelling at home during the summer.

Science:
We have been learning about the sky and weather. We have taken a look at how the Earth moves around the sun.

Special Activities:
