Dear Families,

I hope that you all had a great weekend and stayed warm. Hopefully we will see some spring weather soon. According to Phil the groundhog, spring is on its way.

Our field trip to the “World of Wheels” went well. The students really enjoyed themselves and we all had fun. Everyone behaved very well and I am looking forward to our next field trip (to be planned at a later date).

We have recently begun spelling lessons again. Please encourage your child to study their spelling words at home. A list of spelling words will be sent home weekly.

MCA testing is coming up quickly and to help students prepare for the test I will also be sending math homework home at least 3 times a week. The math homework will include basic math problems such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and measuring.

Elementary Art
Karen Savage-Blue

The elementary art room is bursting with seasonal art activities. It is always fun to take advantage of the winter landscape. It is especially exciting to create art based on a “Seasonal Theme”. Fifth and sixth graders are painting large tin cans to bring home and fill with salt for their sidewalks. Fourth graders are making Christmas trees with cardboard cones, paint and yarn. K-3 are drawing, painting, coloring and constructing many Holiday related art. We always have art on display upstairs in the 4-8 wing. Come by our gallery for an awesome visual experience.

Thanks and keep supporting “the artistic interests” of your child, Karen Savage-Blue
